Before Avalanche gained possession of the Fire Element he possessed Enhanced Strength, Enhanced Speed, Agility, Reflexes, Superhuman Senses and he possesses a mutant Danger sense.  ( Like Spiderman's spider sense)

He trained his body to maximum fitness.

 

After he gained the Fire Element his Strength was increased to Superhuman levels. He gained the ability to fly. The stone gave him pyrokinesis. He can generate intense heat blasts from his body. He developed two types of heat vision

type one is a blast of accurate thermal energy and type two is a strong concussive blast. He can cover his body in fire. Avalanche can use his pyrokinetic abilities to create flaming shields. He gained an immunity to fire. He doesn't require air to make the fire because it is mystical in nature.
